Coming shortly, the HIPAAcast series

This project is spurred on by my recent and ongoing REC "Meaningful Use" experience and concomitant Nevada HIE work focusing on privacy and security laws, regulations, and risk concerns centering on the breadth of patient health records (both digital and paper).

My wife and I have each spent more than a quarter-century working within one highly regulated federal environment after another: FAA, DOE, EPA, OSHA, HHS/CMS, OCC, FDIC, and DOD. We know a thing or two about policies and procedures, compliance, and auditing. A focus on effective understanding of and compliance with all of the myriad federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to PHI (Protected Health Information) could not be more timely or important.

There will be no shortage of material to investigate, discuss, and make sense of. We will provide free downloadable sectional podcasts of every single word of the HIPAA/HITECH regs, along with commentary annotations.

In addition, the following might prove worthwhile (and of interest perhaps to the general public: patients -- which is, well, all of us).

Just a quickie photoshop concept jpeg. We shall see.

Apropos of the topic, I need to give a shout-out to Nurse Talk web radio, btw.

Very nice site.

Stay tuned...
